Ogande Girls High School gate

Ogande Girls High School is located in West Kagan Location, Rangwe Constituency in Homa Bay County. It is a girls’ day and boarding secondary school founded in 1964.

Ogande is famed for its strong Christian values, which began under famous principal madam Rosemary Odette. Girls were also served ‘special meals’ and in the 1980s, fried eggs, veges, fruits and quarter loaves were common breakfast offerings.

Notable alumni include the late Rongo University student Sharon Otieno, who was murdered and dumped in Kodera Forest recently. She joined Form One in 2008 but never finished due to lack of fees in 2009.

Ida sat for her O-levels exams there before joining the Highland School (now Moi Girls High School) in Eldoret for her A-levels.
