Lending her voice against the ills of FGM, Amina Abdi Rabar has been named among 100 most influential young Africans.
Amina has been on the forefront of fighting and supporting campaigns in Kenya, determined to end the vice that continues to be practiced in certain parts of the country.
100 young achievers from 26 African countries have been announced by Africa Youth Awards as part of the 2018 list of 100 Most Influential Young Africans.
According to Africa Youth Awards, the annual prestigious list which was launched in 2016 and currently in its third-year, features young politicians, activists, entrepreneurs, entertainers, digital influencers, philanthropists and athletes across 10 distinct categories who are blazing various trails and promoting the positive image of Africa across the globe.
Speaking about the publication, Prince Akpah, the founding President of Africa Youth Awards noted the current list features a record 90 new entrants and 43 females.

According to Akpah, this year’s honorees were listed for their individual and collective contributions towards positioning the image of Africa as frontrunners in their respective fields.
Other notable names in the 2018 list include Uganda’s Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, Nigeria’s Davido, Guinea’s ABD Traore, Kenya’s Xtian Dela, South Africa’s Cassper Nyovest and Tanzania’s Alikiba.
Excited to make it to the list, Amina took to social media to share the good news.
