NTV news anchor Nimrod Taabu is the latest big name to leave Nation Media Group.
Known for his mastery of Swahili and eminent news presentation skills, Taabu, 41, is reportedly joining Citizen TV as Kanze Dena’s replacementfollowing her appointment by President Uhuru Kenyatta as the Deputy State House Spokesperson.
Taabu’s colleague Jane Ngoiri took it to social media to share with the world how Nimrod was her mentor when she joined the station back in 2012.
“What an emotional day it has been. I can feel the void in my heart. I still have tears in my eyes...errr balancing tears is no joke. I never thought a day would come to say Goodbye. Nimrod Taabu has being more than a colleague; a Best Friend.
“When I joined NTV in 2012, I was star struck by this guy who I watched and always wanted to do News with...and when I met him...we just clicked. Our chemistry on TV attracted eyeballs, we connected with viewers and it has always been fun working with NT.
“Nimrod Taabu; May the Almighty God Bless you in this New Chapter of your Life,’’ she posted.
Fellow journalist Ken Mijungu also shared the news on Twitter as he posted a photo of him and Nimrod.
‘’Onward comrade. Its been real, shine on!’’ Tweeted Mijungu.
He joins other top journalists who have left NTV this year including; Linus Kaikai, Larry Madowo, Victoria Rubadiri, Jamila Mohammed and Enock Sikolia.
