After a heartbreaking video was shared on the KTN Facebook page about the skin bleaching addiction, Kenyans were quick to react on social media.
The video takes us on a journey of famous celebrities who have bleached their skin in a bid to look ‘beautiful’. From Ciara, Rihanna, Mshoza, supermodel Iman, Nicki Minaj to closer home, Cameroonian Dencia.
It also takes us through the lives of young girls and women who have become addicted to skin bleaching.
The prevalence of skin lightening products especially in Africa is highlighted. According to World Health Organisation out of every 10 women, 8 of them use skin bleach in Nigeria.
