It’s almost Valentine's day and while some couples already know what their valentines plot is, others are still grappling in the miasma of love, uncertain of what ‘Valentine’s’ is going to be for them.

And as the joke goes, ‘Surprise your girlfriend this Valentine by introducing her to your wife’, some girlfriends are not sure where they stand in their men’s lives and some are even crossing their fingers that valentine’s doesn’t bring forth ‘bad memories’.

Still, others are at the verge of breaking up and may even do so before Valentine ’s day because it can be rather hard for a man to juggle his array of girlfriends on this day and make them all feel equally special.

However, according to the daily mail website most couples admitted that they are usually together for just over five months before they deem the relationship to be 'serious' and some couple activities are a reflection of how ‘solid’ a relationship is (but these may differ from one couple to another).

Eight out of 10 people firmly believe that when it comes to keeping a partner happy, actions speak far louder than words.

Well, here are a few actions showing just how much a couple is in love, and may just give a clear picture of how eagerly one should look forward to Valentine’s day.

  • Posting a 'loved-up' photo on Facebook, changing status to 'in a relationship' and being introduced to wider friendships circles show that couples are the 'real deal’ because they are ready to tell the world about their love.
  • Planning a holiday together away from the world, driving each others' cars and having a key to your partner's flat are all signs a relationship has got serious, a new survey reveals.
  • Meeting potential in-laws, and staying at each others place overnight often, show trust and growing love for a partner.
  • Getting more comfortable with each other. This means seeing each other without make up, showering together, lounging around the house in pyjamas and even discussing intimate health issues.
  • Sharing private details such as pin numbers and passwords is the best way to prove that your relationship has no hidden aspects.
  • Sending good morning and good night texts, frequently saying 'I love you' and getting timely replies shows a sense of commitment.
  • When you HYPOTHETICALLY talk about IF you lived together and about babies you would like to have.
  • Temporarily moving in together and having clothes and leaving a toothbrush at each other's house.
  • Divulging salary details to each other and discussing plans for the future both financially and personally.
  • You stop seeing people you know they don't like, all their friends and perhaps their siblings and parents add you on Facebook.
