Following in the footsteps of Hollywood the epitome of entertainment, Kenya’s own Machawood was launched yesterday and might just be the next big African entertainment hub.
Pioneered by former spokesperson Dr. Alfred Mutua and with a pool influential media personalities behind the project, Machawood- Machakos Entertainment Centre for Film, Media, Music and the Arts- is expected to make Machakos County the premier location for African entertainment.
Dr. Alfred, who commisioned for 50 acres of land to be set aside for the projects infrastructural set up, adds that “Machawood is expected to generate over 30,000 jobs and Shs. 500 Million to Machakos County in the next one year.”
So far, Machawood has been allocated Shs. 60 Million initial government funds in this financial year for its start-up operations and with key members such as Peter M. Mutie, Daniel Ndambuki a.k.a Churchill, Ken wa Maria and Caroline Mutoko in the Board of Directors this project may just be the next level of entertainment.
