Police in Busia have impounded 1,500 brooms of bhang being transported from Uganda to Kenya.
The driver and other two occupants that were in the Toyota Axio make vehicle were arrested and are in police custody.
County Police Commander John Nyoike said the bhang was seized on Sunday at a roadblock near River Sio along Busia-Kisumu highway.
He said the suspects will help them establish where the marijuana was destined for. Mr Nyoike warned members of public against engaging in illegal business.

“Business like this one is not good, let them do legit business that will not have any problem with law enforcement agencies,” said Nyoike.
He continued,” The suspects are going to be interrogated with view of trying to establish where the bhang was to be delivered.”
