Malkia Strikers head coach Paul Bitok will lead the women’s national volleyball team ahead of next month's African Nations Championship in Kigali, Rwanda. 

For the men’s team, Kenya Volleyball Federation has appointed General Service Unit (GSU) men's team coach Gideon Tarus in the games set to tip off on September 5.

Tarus who was part of the men's technical bench in 2016 replaces Moses Epoloto and will be assisted by Kenya Prisons coach David Lung'aho alongside Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) coach Sammy Mulinge.

Bitok will be assisted by Josp Barasa and Japheth Munala his assistants.

The federation also released the men's (18) and women's (17) provisional squads that are expected to report to residential training.

In the men's team, Brian Melly (GSU), Jairus Kipkosgei (Kenya Prisons) and Simon Kipkorir (GSU) will lead the team.

However, Prisons trio of Michael Chemos, Sila Kipruto and Rodgers Kipkirui as well as GSU duo of Noah Bett and Bonfentry Mukhekhe are some of the notable absentees.
