Eight suspects were Tuesday evening arrested after more than 300 people turned up at two Nairobi hotels where they had been promised to be processed to travel to Kuwait for jobs.
The suspects were clerks for a firm that has been claiming they are processing the job seekers, most of them former soldiers, police officers and prison warders to travel to Kuwait for greener pastures.
The victims had paid between Sh80, 000 and Sh130, 0000 to be processed for the said jobs.
The Head of DCI at Central police sub-county Samuel Kobina said the money was to cater for logistics, training and transport to Kuwait.
“We are looking for more suspects in this saga. They have swindled many unsuspecting Kenyans,” said Kobina.

The victims were waiting to be picked from the hotels in vans to the airport for the journey to begin when police arrived.
Police have declared the whole process a scam and announced they are looking for a woman said to be behind it.
The victims had arrived with their traveling documents and luggage oblivious of the truth behind their plans. Police took them to Central police station in lorries for statement recording.
The eight were expected in court as police sought more time to hold them while hunting down the main player in the scam.
