The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) on Friday revealed that the garbage collector who was photographed with a gun had been arrested.
DCI thanked Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) for widely sharing the photo, noting that they played a key part in his capture.
“A man who was photographed armed & the matter brought to our attention has been arrested & will be charged accordingly.
“We thank #KOT for bringing this matter to our attention & for additional information that we received through DMS.

“Let’s work together to keep our country safe,” read a statement by the DCI.
The photo was widely shared on social media for the past two days and many wondered why a garbage collector would be armed.
The pistol was carefully tucked behind his back as he rummaged through a heap of dirt.
Some thought he was an undercover cop looking for evidence while others refuted this theory saying no police officer would be that careless when carrying a gun.
