Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger will quit his role as manager at the end of the season.

Through a statement shared by Arsenal on their official social media pages on Friday, the 68-year-old will no longer manage them after the season ends.

“After careful consideration and following discussions with the club, I feel it is the right time for me to step down at the end of the season. I am grateful for having had the privilege to serve the club for so many memorable years. I managed the club with full commitment and integrity. I want to thank the staff, the players, the Directors and the fans who make this club so special. I urge our fans to stand behind the team to finish on a high. To all the Arsenal lovers take care of the values of the club.
My love and support for ever.”

This will bring an end to an illustrious 22-year career which has seen him lift the Premier League title three times, the FA Cup a record seven times and the league cup twice.

He will leave with one year still left in his contract.

Arsenal still have to face West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday and Wenger will be hoping to reduce the gap between his team and fourth place.
