Makutano primary school pupils were on the receiving end during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s visit to West Pokot.
The president’s arrival at the school saw a group of youth surge towards the venue, prompting police to use teargas to disperse them. However, the pupils, who were also eager to see the president were caught in the middle – inhaling large amounts of smoke from the teargas canisters.
According to reports, the children, who were also struck by the police were quickly taken to Lilyon Nursing Home for treatment.
