A local administrator has been interdicted after he was arraigned in court over theft charges.
Regional Commissioner Osman Warfa said Emanuel Tuitoek, an assistant chief in Salawa sub-location, was suspended after he was allegedly found with stolen relief food.
"It has also been established that the same administrator has been an obstacle in the fight against illicit brews in the locality," said Mr Warfa.
Tuitoek was arraigned in a Kabarnet magistrate's court on Friday after spending the night in Kabarnet Police Station cells.
He was arrested on Wednesday night as he and his accomplices tried to cart away bags of relief supplies after breaking into a store in the area District Officer's office.
