A Congolese national was at the weekend arrested after he was found with a snake and fake money at his Umoja Estate house in Nairobi.
Police raided the house and found the three-foot-long cobra and Sh10 million in Kenyan and US dollar bills following complaints that the man was conning people that he can double their money after prayers.
“The man tells people he can double their money but later hands them fake cash. We suspect there is fake money in circulation but we are pursuing the matter,” Nairobi CID boss Nicholas Kamwende told The Standard.
He said the snake has been taken to Snake Park and the man will be charged with various counts including being in possession of fake currency, the snake and fraud.
