Two young traders were on Wednesday evening shot dead by unknown assailants at Makuchi village in Hamisi Constituency within Vihiga County.
Julius Cheti, a chemist operator and Benard Muhindi, a gold dealer, succumbed to their injuries after being shot while at their business premises.
The 7pm incident took place as the two were chatting with a third person, suspected to be an accomplice of the assailants, but who has since disappeared.
Witnesses said the two suspects allegedly arrived on a motorbike, which they also used to escape after the shooting.
Police have linked the killings to business rivalry and have launched investigations.
