Ticket Masters, who are in charge of selling tickets for Sunday’s local derby pitting AFC Leopards against Gor Mahia at Nyayo Stadium, have admitted a discrepancy in some of the tickets.
Fans who bought the Sh500 ticket complained that the counterfoil, which remains with the cashiers indicates Sh200 and are worried that Leopards, who are the home team, may lose money in this apparent scam.
But Ticket Master’s manager George Ocholla said there was a printing error in some of the tickets, hence the discrepancy.
"No money will be lost as a result of this discrepancy which Leopards are aware of. It was a printing error that we are aware of and will not affect the final figure," he said.

AFC Leopards secretary general Duncun Angode said they are fully aware of the discrepancy and have put in place measures to ensure that the club is not fleeced.
He said: "We were informed about it and we have looked at the receipts and are convinced that all is well. I want to encourage the fans to continue buying the tickets."
Elsewhere, Leopards fans under the umbrella of the Club of Leopards Active and Wise Supporters (CLAWS) trust have promised the players a Sh50,000 cash award should they beat Gor in Sunday’s derby.
Leopards have also been promised Sh10,000 for each player should they win by sponsors Mumias Sugar Company. This is on top of another Sh10,000 the players always receive for a win.
Should they win on Sunday, each Leopard’s player will walk away with Sh23,000 after 90 minutes on the pitch.
According to CLAWS trust leadership, the cash will be contributed directly by the fans.
It is the second time that fans under CLAWS are giving out a cash reward to the team. The team received Sh20,000 following the 3-1 win over Sofapaka.
At the beginning of the league the trust had a player reward scheme through which three best players of every match (as voted by fans on the fans website) received Sh1,000, while the rest each received Sh500 for a win.
This programme was, however, suspended when the team’s performance deteriorated due to a string of poor results including six straight losses. The trust has previously supported the team by donating footballs and training bibs
