Everyone has something they wish for this season. Here is a list of Christmas wishes, as well as some extra gift ideas, writes CAROLINE NYANGA.

Marya

Bootylicious singer Marya will be in Nyeri with her parents this Christmas. She will later perform in her backyard before chilling with friends in the local joints. Marya says that Christmas is the time for family reunion. The singer also hopes that everyone will excersise caution while indulging because life is short.

She hopes to be a better musician and person next year.

Mustapha

Although he is a muslim, Mustapha believes Christmas is a time for coming together and making merry.

He plans to visit his Christian friends in Nairobi during the day before proceeding for a show in the night.

His wish is for Kenyans not to over-indulge and drink resonsbly.

" I’m planning to release more hits and making a step in the right direction next year," he says.

Michelle

Gospel rapper Mitchelle is going to the countryside. "I will travel to Emuhaya to bond and connect with my parents," she says. "I’ve spent the better part of the year in Nairobi with friends," she adds.

The singer says that she has never had Christmas wish upon realising that Santa wasn’t real. "I stopped looking forward to Christmas since then. But all the same I don’t refuse X-mass presents,"she says.

Wahu

The MTV award-winner plans to spend Christmas with her husband Nameless and daughter Tumiso at her parents home in Kiserian during a family get together .

"This will be a good time for us to bond with each other and eat nyama choma after a year of hard work."

Wahu loves the festive season because it is time for family reunions as they indulge in unending fun.

The singer does not have an Xmas wish list but hopes to put more effort in her work and become a better person especially to her friends.

Mr Lenny

Mr Lenny says he might be travelling to Uganda for business during this time.

"My company Interactive Moments promotes team building, including a kiddies entertainment corner."

But if all goes well, he hopes to spend time with his sisters, mother, brother and girlfriend in Nairobi.

He describes Christmas as a rare moment for family and friends to get together and enjoy.

His only wish is to have a good time with his loved ones.

His New Year’s resolution includes releasing his second album while expanding on his company. "I intend to grow as big as possible, God willing."

Cartel

Rapper Cartel is planning to spend time with his sweetheart in Diani Beach, South Coast. The rapper will be accompanied by Anyuola Family members and their girlfriends.

"We will hang out at Tanduri Club. Hapo ni moto kama pasi na inashika mbaya," he says.

Cartel’s wish is that the Kenyan Government finds ways of assisting the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) so that they also re-unite and enjoy with the loved ones.

"My New Year resolution is to launch three albums," he says.

Nonini

Genge’s Godfather Nonini says he will be working over Christmas. "I will be entertaining fans," he says. The singer believes Xmas is special because this is the time people get together with their loved ones regardless of who they are and enjoy besides giving back to the society.

Wahu

However, he does not have an Xmas wish list saying he does not believe in Christmas being a Jehovah’s Witness.

His New Year hope is for Kenyans, to have a successful and peaceful year as we move to the next level.

Shaffie

A Muslim by religion Shaffie Weru says he will be working during Christmas.

"I have always worked all through Christmas," he says.

Shaffie adds that the occasion is special because it is the only time in Kenya where people don’t indulge in politics and instead make merry with family and friends. Although a party animal, Shaffie intends to spend time at his mother’s house in South C.

Come 2010 he assures us something big as far as his life is concerned. "As far as other things go I can’t tell at this point because I have always broken my resolutions for the last three years.

Angela ‘Shinde’ Mwandanda

Although Shinde would love to be in Mombasa over the festive season, she will be in Nairobi to spend time with her family.

"After a long period of indulging in hard work this is the time when I get to be with my family members open the gate for them as well as sample a variety of delicacies."

The singer is undecided about her Christmas wish-list saying she and fellow musician Debbie of Tattuu may hang out somewhere in Westlands. "We are spontaneous and so it is hard to tell where exactly we will be."

Shinde does not make New Year resolutions.

Kunguru

Kunguru will be spending time with his wife, daughter and son. He says they will travel upcountry to Kisumu City where his parents reside. For him, this is a time for a family reunion besides relaxing after a hectic year of hard work.

Kunguru who refers to himself as a ‘houseboy’ as opposed to a party animal says he would wish for Jesus to come during this occasion.

He hopes to make a difference in his life including that of every other person who comes his way come next year.

Rufftone

Rufftone intends to spend time at a Children’s Home in Mombasa starting tomorrow until Christmas Day. "Together with my brother Daddy Owen we have a Family show on Boxing Day in Bungoma."

He says that Christmas reminds Kenyans of the basic family values that are usually forgotten along the year.

"It is also a time to get back and thank God for His kindness, mercy and protection besides giving back to the poor," he explains.

Rufftone’s wish for this Christmas is for him to be closer to his siblings besides being a better person.

But come next year, he hopes to go into entrepreneurship. By this he simply means that he wants to give the local entertainment industry a more corporate look for it to be taken more seriously.
