Dagoretti High and Buruburu Girls retained their Nairobi Region boys’ and girls’ basketball titles yesterday.

The first quarter was evenly contested but it was championsDagoretti who forced one basket lead as the score stood at 13-11. Dagoretti won the match in the second quarter taking it 21-8. Upper Hill contained Dagoretti in the third and fourth quarters at 12-11 and 9-9 and it was little too late to recover and salvage the game.
Buruburu thrashed Raila Education Centre (REC) 50-21. Chantal Kiyobe was in fine form sinking an impressive 22 points to anchor her side to a fourth straight trophy. Morine Nyang’anyi added 12 points for the former national champions while Christine Ochilo and Noelita Achieng scored seven points each for REC, whose stars Ochilo and Achieng dictated the proceedings.
