The Siaya County government yesterday signed a Sh394 million deal with a Chinese company to upgrade Siaya Stadium.
The facility will be upgraded to an ultra-modern 20, 000 seater capacity stadium that will be eligible to host major national and international games.
The construction works will include the upgrading of stands, main block, external works, sports pitch replacement of grass and laying of tartan track, amphitheater, toilets and floodlights.
The county said the construction work will take 10 months should be ready by August of next year. The stadium will be the home ground of Bondo United.
