Manchester United star Juan Mata has emerged as a transfer target for former club Valencia.
The Spaniard is out of contract in the summer and a decision has yet to be made on whether the Red Devils will activate a one-year extension buried into his current deal.
The 29-year-old has struggled to make an impact this season and could leave for a second time with Jose Mourinho as his manager, reports the Daily Star.
Mata spent four seasons at Valencia before sealing a move to Chelsea in 2011. The attacking midfielder was then sold by current boss Mourinho to United in 2013.
