Lionel Messi reportedly told FC Barcelona’s bosses to bring Angel di Maria from Manchester United.
Di Maria and Messi linked up brilliantly at the 2014 World Cup before the Man United winger suffered an injury and eventually missed the final.
According to GiveMeSport via El Confidencial, they are both currently enjoying a training camp with the national side in the USA, possibly inspiring the suggestion that Messi wants to save Angel di Maria from Old Trafford.
Di Maria has been off form since returning from injury in January and van Gaal took off Angel di Maria at half-time in Saturday's win over Sunderland.
