A 17-year-old schoolgirl in Ainamoi is said to have taken her own life.

Kapkugerwet Assistant Chief Patrick Langat said the body of the Form Two student was found in their house in Duka Moja Estate.

Police officers took the body to the Kericho Referral Hospital mortuary.

The chief said they were yet to established the circumstances under which the girl died.

The incident comes barely two weeks after another student in Bureti constituency allegedly died by suicide in the school’s toilet.
