Today, I wish to begin by wishing the father of one of our most talented local artistes, Redsan, a quick recovery. We have no beef with Redsan – and Pulse has for the last seven years wrote fabulous articles promoting him, told you about his shows and ‘hurrahed’ him.

But we are NOT his, or any other artiste’s, PR firm!

It’s our duty to write about the shenanigans of local entertainment figures without fear or favour. So when Redsan tells us to ‘lay off’ or calls me to falsely say I’m attacking him on TV, all I can think – paranoia!

Instead of bouncers, maybe the San can hire a ‘media relations’ personnel to handle these affairs – and stop shadow boxing.

Or take a leaf from Shaffie Weru, about whom people have said many things. And written, but Shaffie has always risen to the occasion, like the star he is. Like today, where, in an exclusive with Pulse’s Matilda Nzioki, he clears the air – on his relationships, and asks ki-ushujaa "wazz tha problem?"

The red sun may set every day, but if there is one club in Nairobi that never sleeps, then that must be Florida 2000 (F2). The Pulse crew, including snapper Pius Cheruiyot, went out every night for a whole week to bring you our fascinating main storo this week – ‘Seven Nights in Florida’.

The Smitta this week goes way back to the October of 2003 to bring you what the Scene@ then was, BBA. And ‘The Banter’ is bang on, smack bang in the middle of our soccer season.

Last weekend, my good team Gor Mahia blew the chance to cut Ulinzi’s lead but that did not stop us from partying along the shores of Lake Naivasha. Together with Gor Facebook branch members, we teamed up with fastest rising entertainment outfit Flame Entertainment to throw a big after-party at Crayfish Camp. But my dear Red Devils are still stuttering like a big ship leaving the harbour for the high seas. We will still rule the rough world of Premiership and European Champions League — with or without him.

Even as we welcome one of our most prolific and hard working writers Stevens Muendo, back from leave, I have to thank you, the reader. And to all the candidates sitting examinations we wish you well.

Throughout the years, you are the one who gives every one of the Pulse crew the roho ya simba to make this the ... magazine ya mashujaa. Asante sana.
