Bruno Fernandes has just won his fourth Premier League Player of the Month award - the same amount as Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Manchester United star has not yet spent a year in England's top flight, but has made an incredible impact.

His compatriot's haul was won across six seasons while Fernandes has done so in just just seven months of the award being given out.

Ronaldo arrived as a raw talent in 2003 and truly began showing his quality several years into his United career.

Fernandes was signed as the finished article and has proved that with an incredible amount of goals and assists.

The 26-year-old first won the award in February 2020 - his first full month in the Premier League.

He went on to win it in June once football returned from lockdown and then did the double in November and December.

Last month Fernandes helped power the Red Devils to four wins and two draws in their six games.

He scored three times as United continued to climb the league table.

Premier League stalwarts like Paul Scholes, Alan Shearer and Frank Lampard were also named Player of the Month on four occasions.

Only five players have now won the award more times than Fernandes, but he may soon draw level with them.

Wayne Rooney is one of the men to win it five times with all of his awards coming during his Old Trafford days.

Former Red Devil Robin van Persie also won it on five occasions, with two of them coming during his three-year stint in Manchester.

Harry Kane and Steven Gerrard have both won it on six occasions.
