Drama erupted outside Milimani Law Courts when Governor George Natembeya's Director of Communications, Felix Sialo, was allegedly taken away by unknown individuals.

Viral video footage shows a man believed to be Sialo desperately trying to break free from a group of men attempting to capture him.

One person, apparently trying to protect Sialo, can be heard shouting "Give reasons for his arrest!" before the brief altercation ends and vehicles drive away.

Sialo had been attending a court mention related to a Sh3 million case involving Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya.

An anonymous source told TNX Africa the alleged abduction may be connected to recent events at Governor Natembeya's Kitale residence.

"It is difficult to understand what's happening, but it's probably related to what occurred in Kitale during the raid," the source said, adding that Sialo's phone has been switched off and he remains unreachable.

Police have not yet commented on the incident.

The incident comes two weeks after Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers arrested Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya in connection with alleged embezzlement of Sh1.4 billion in county funds.

The arrest followed a dramatic raid at Natembeya's Milimani home in Kitale, where armed police officers accompanied EACC agents from Nairobi under a search warrant.

Natembeya's lawyer, Ndegwa Njiru, said the governor was taken to EACC headquarters in Nairobi for questioning but has been denied legal access.

"They have detained our client, but we cannot access him or provide legal counsel during the ongoing process," Njiru stated.

EACC confirmed Natembeya is under investigation for alleged procurement irregularities, abuse of office, and bribery connected to three major projects spanning the 2022/2023 to 2024/2025 financial years: the rehabilitation of Kenyatta Stadium (Phase 1A), the construction of county headquarters offices, and the building of Tom Mboya Hospital.

"The Governor allegedly influenced tender awards and received kickbacks from contractors through intermediaries," the Commission stated.
