Governor Simon Kachapin has challenged Senator John Lonyangapuo to declare his interest in the gubernatorial seat instead of tarnishing the name of the county.
Mr Kachapin asked the senator to give him time to complete his first term instead of spreading rumours and falsehoods about his leadership.
“Let him challenge me in the coming general election instead of spreading rumours about my government,” he said.
Speaking at Lelan, the Governor told the senator to be ready for a fierce political duel, saying his “record is unmatched”.
He said the county had been marginalised for long and lacked basic facilities, which his Government had helped bring close to the people.

The governor said his government has been able to open over 30 new secondary schools. On health, he said: “Residents are no longer walking over 30kms to access health services,” he said.
“This is not the time to start engaging in campaigns. Let’s give those in office time to delivery their constitutional mandate,” he said.
