A two-year-old boy drowned in a well under unclear circumstances at Upper Kanyadawa village, Kowidi sub-location in Rachuonyo East sub-county.
The body of Gregory Otieno was found in a well located at a construction site near Kadongo trading centre along Oyugis-Kisumu road.
The body was discovered by women traders who had gone to wash sweet potatoes.
Assistant Chief Michael Aoro said the child drowned when his parents were away.

“Nobody knows who was taking care of the child. Let parents be responsible by ensuring there is someone attending to their children when they are away,” said Aoro.

The body was moved to Okita Nursing Home Morgue for postmortem examination.
