Police in Kisumu have launched a manhunt for a woman who stabbed her husband’s girlfriend to death at Ragumo trading center in Kisumu. 

Kisumu East Deputy Sub-County Police Commander Charles Wafula said the suspect attacked her husband’s girlfriend on Wednesday with a kitchen knife and stabbed her in the chest.

The suspect's husband who was in the company of the deceased is said to have gone to a friend’s house and requested to spend the night.

His wife is said to have got wind of the plan and followed the pair while armed with a kitchen knife.

She is said to have stormed her husband’s friend’s house at 1am and stabbed his companion in the chest before fleeing the scene, and is now at large.

The suspect's husband and the friend also fled the scene while the girlfriend was left lying in a pool of blood on the bed. She died on the spot.

Police recovered a kitchen knife and a bedsheet soaked in blood before taking the deceased’ body to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) morgue.

According to Mr Wafula, a postmortem will be conducted on the body of the woman who they marked as unknown as they were unable to trace her identity.

Wafula noted that they have launched investigations and were pursuing the suspect, her husband and the friend who offered accommodation.

“We are going to pursue the three. We need to arrest them,” he said.

Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man has committed suicide at Korwenje area, Seme Sub-County after his wife left him for another man.

The man from Gem-Ogero in Siaya County reportedly had a disagreement with his wife who fled their matrimonial home for another man who lived in Seme, Kisumu County.

Village clan elders in North Central Seme location Maurice Odipo said the man traced his wife to the another mans home at 6pm and requested her to return back home with him.

The woman declined saying it was already getting late and could not leave her two children behind.

The deceased returned home alone, only to later hang himself.

Kisumu County Commander Ranson Lolmodon said police collected the body and took it to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) morgue.
