A police officer attached to Kenyerere Police Post Kisii has committed suicide by shooting himself twice.
The officer turned the gun on himself early Thursday morning in his residence few meters from the post.
Using an AK 47 Rifle, the officer shot the first bullet through his stomach with a second one going through his nose.
Kisii County Commander Martin Kibet has confirmed the incident saying investigations into the cause of the incident are underway.
The body has since been taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.
