A 17-year-old boy was shot dead by his friend at Muruangai Sub-location, in Samburu Central.
Police reports said the teenager was shot by his 16-year-old mate yesterday while practising how to operate guns on Sunday evening.
Area Police Commander Samson Ogello said investigations so far indicate the two were herding livestock in a thicket when the accident occurred.
Mr Ogello said the suspect allegedly corked his firearm which discharged a bullet, shooting the victim on the waist. The boy died on the spot.
“The two were practising how to shoot in a bush while herding; one of them cocked the gun and fired killing the other," said Ogello.
