The Government plans to introduce laws that will ensure cohesion among security agencies, counties and the national government.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Lenku said the National Coordination Act and the National Security Policy to be ratified soon is also aimed at enhancing provision of services to the public.
“We are soon introducing new laws that will ensure smooth running of affairs at all levels. This will ensure coherence at large,” he said.
The move follows an ongoing standoff between police and some officials of the Provincial Administration.

A section of officials of the Provincial Administration have complained that police defy their orders.
War on crime
The officials revealed there is a standoff between themselves and police in the war on crime and especially alcohol and drug abuse.
The chiefs, DOs and some District Commissioners claimed police have been defying their orders on claims they are independent and answerable to the Inspector General of Police’s office as per the law.
“They (police) say we cannot order them around anymore because we do not have the jurisdiction. They say they are under the Inspector-General of Police and only their police bosses can give them instructions,” said one chief in the meeting who added the problem is now countrywide.
