Kitui Finance Executive Mary Nguli has resigned, citing frustrations from the county executive committee.
Nguli tendered her resignation to Governor Charity Ngilu on Friday.
She said having reflected on the matter and consulted her family and friends, she had decided to quit her employment at the county government.
“As earlier discussed with you, the difficult working environment and my inability to convince the County Executive Committee on financial matters has made it untenable for me to complete my contractual engagement with the county government,” she wrote in the letter addressed to Governor Ngilu (pictured).

“I wish to hereby relay my decision to resign from duty as the County Executive Committee Member for County Treasury with immediate effect.”
The letter was stamped "received" by the Office of the Governor on Friday.
Before joining the Kitui county government, Nguli worked in the same capacity in Kiambu County under former Governor William Kabogo.
Her resignation is a blow to Ngilu whose two other executives; Philip Mumo for Trade and Rosaita Ngina for Health, have been rejected by the MCAs.
