The Meteorological Department and the county have developed a climate information service plan aimed at building resilience among pastoral communities in northern Kenya through timely and relevant information, an NGO programme officer has said.
Mumina Bonaya of Adaptation Consortium said the information would help in decision-making and monitoring weather changes.
The officer added that the plan was in line with the county integrated development plan, the Constitution, Vision 2030, the National Climate Change Response Strategy, and the Global Framework for Climate Services, which is part of the climate change pact of Paris, France.
