A Nation Media Group Editor was arrested and locked up over a story as Interior Minister Joseph Nkaissery demanded that he reveals his source.

Mr John Ngirachu was arrested in Nairobi by CID officers as Interior Ministry Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery ordered that he stays behind bars till he reveals his sources.

In a press statement, Nkaissery issued a stern warning about continued disrespect to the government.

“This campaign has several strands and most alive is clothed in arguments, purportedly against graft, which are increasingly taking shape of a larger plot of economic sabotage. In the last week we have also seen internationalization of this hysteria, with articles in international media outlets, aimed at harming the nation. We can only presume that these are authored in cohort with the people intent on executing this insidious agenda.”
