Deputy President William Ruto and CORD principals will be in Kisii region today and tomorrow, as the battle for control of perceived swing vote areas in the next General Election takes shape.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Ruto will be in the county in separate functions today, while ODM leader Raila Odinga will campaign for his party’s candidate, Naftali Onkoba, in the Nyacheki ward by-election tomorrow. The by-election is scheduled for Wednesday.
Ruto is expected at a funds drive in Nyabururu Catholic Parish, Kitutu Chache South, while Kalonzo will be hosted by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi and is expected to hold a leaders’ meeting in Kebirigo, Nyamira County.
He will then hold roadside rallies on the Nyamira-Kisii road and in Magombo and Keroka markets.
It is not clear whether Kalonzo will campaign for the Wiper candidate in the by-election, Isaac Mogocha. Momanyi said the Wiper leader will visit the region to meet his supporters.
