The county government is organising an Information Communication and Technology (ICT) competition. Over 150 ICT experts are expected to attend the event to be held at Dedan Kimathi University starting on October 16.
The competition, dubbed Nyeri Civic Hackathon, is expected to attract ICT students from universities across the country.
Nyeri Education secretary Elijah Nguyo said the competition was meant to test the ability of ICT students and enthusiasts to find solutions to everyday problems.
"We would like ICT experts to come up with solutions that ordinary Kenyans can relate to," Mr Nguyo said.
The winner will get Sh100,000 and an opportunity to work for the ICT Authority of Kenya
