The Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) has commended President Uhuru Kenyatta for calling for prudent management of resources.
COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli said the move was a step in the right direction as Kenya was being impoverished by theft and mismanagement of public resources.
Atwoli urged Mr. Kenyatta to send out a strong message to all those charged with the responsibility of taking care of public resources.
"As Kenyan workers, we will not sit back and watch frustrations continue to engulf the President and his government because of a few individuals determined to thrive on theft and mismanagement of public resources," he said.
In his Madaraka Day speech, the President admitted that mismanagement of public resources was a big headache for his government.
