Reports have emerged that Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney would be willing to head back to Everton after being away for 13 years.
Sources have revealed that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keen to get Rooney off the wage bill at Old Trafford.
The England striker’s agent flew to China last month and held discussions with a number of teams to test the water ahead of a summer transfer.
Everton reportedly enquired about taking their former goalscorer on loan in January but the Red Devils rejected the bid.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman has spoken openly of his desire to tempt Rooney to return back to the club.
