Kisumu United is confident of earning promotion to the FKF Premier League.

The team is currently third in the National Super League log and are upbeat of sealing an automatic qualification spot to the top tier league.

Formerly referred to as Western Stima, Kisumu United have 54 points, three behind leaders APS Bomet and a point behind second placed Fortune Sacco.

Two top teams at the end of the NSL season will get an automatic promotion while the third placed team will face off with Wazito FC who finished third-last in the FKF-PL which ended on Sunday.

On Monday, the team received a major boost in their quest for promotion.

This is after receiving brand new kit sponsorship from A2Z Sportswear comprising of two training kits, two official playing kits and warm up bibs.

Speaking to the Standard Sports at Moi Stadium, A2Z East Africa Director Abdikarim Noor said they are happy to support a growing club like Kisumu United with quality sportswear.

Noor said they gave the team 60 bibs, 300 jerseys to cater for fans sales, 120 training kits, 100 socks and 12 truck suits.

“This is a good initiative that we have started. Our market has been dominant in Somalia but now we are venturing in Kenya so that we upgrade the level of not only playing but also sportswear especially for teams in the lower league and with less financial muscle.”

“Our goal is to get more clubs with huge fan bases. We give them kits after confirming their fans reach and if they can sell the replicas to maximum then we will supply them every season as we balance the shares from sales,” said Noor who gave out the kits for free to Kisumu United.

Kisumu United Team Manager Moses Nyadik said the kits come as a motivation to the team especially heading to the final nine games of the season.

AZ coming on board is a blessing in disguise. A deal like no other. This will motivate the team as we work harder to gain promotion to the premier league,” said Nyadik.
