Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB) bigwig Diamond Platnumz has finally come out to address the issue surrounding his paternity. Speaking to Wasafi FM’s The Switch, the Waah hitmaker disclosed that he knew that Juma Abdul was not his biological father 10 years ago.

He revealed that despite knowing the truth in 2010, he kept it as a secret and did not stop loving Juma as he played a key role of a father figure in his life. “It is true that Mzee Abdul is not my biological father. But I loved him since I was young until 2010 when I was told the truth. No one else knew about this because I even loved my other siblings, Ricardo and Queen Darleen, more,” said Platnumz.

He reiterated that his admiration for Abdul, as a father figure, will not be affected by the recent confessions and vowed to continue respecting him. "Even after finding out the truth, my love for Mzee Abdul as my father will remain constant,” he added. Opening up about their ‘strained relationship’, the singer denied claims that he does not support him at all. “By bad luck, he pushed me away. My mother was mad after he [Abdul] went to the press to claim that I don’t support him. The truth is I have been supporting him.”

The declaration comes weeks after his mother – Sanura Kassim- made it known that the late Salum Iddy Nyange is the Bongo Flava megastar’s biological father. “Ricardo’s father is the same as Diamond’s; He is called Salum Iddi. Abdul was a stepfather - he found me with Naseeb’s pregnancy, and he knew it. He told me that he was not responsible for the pregnancy. I have on many occasions told him that if he had accepted the pregnancy the child would have been his. He has done nothing for him since nursery school,” lamented the self-styled Mama Dangote.
