Former Konde Music Worldwide producer Bonga has revealed why he terminated his contract with the Harmonize owned stable in mid-February, 2020.
Speaking to Bongo 5, Bonga claimed that the reason for his exit, among other issues, was that Harmonize failed to live up to his end of the bargain.
For starters, Bonga said he wanted to venture into music and made attempts to spread his wings aside from sound production, a move that Harmonize allegedly rejected.
Bonga claimed that his welfare at the stable was also not catered for and slept at Konde Gang studios severally after a lease on a property he lived in ran out.
“The main issue for me was housing. I went to them and explained my situation but I was ignored severally. They kept postponing their commitments to pay. I slept in the studio several times. To him, me sleeping in the studio was ok, I am at work,” said Bonga.

The producer known for his midas touch on Uno lamented that a car pledge initiated by the philanthropic singer also failed to materialize.
“He told me to scout for a car. When I found one that I liked, I took the owner to him and they agreed on a Sh460,000 (Tsh10 million) price. Then there was silence. The dealer would often call inquiring when he would pay up. Money would be cleared for other things, save for anything concerning me.”
“When I would ask him what was up, he would urge me to be patient saying he was engaged in other projects. He would assure me that he will sort it out. It dragged for a long time until I decided to look for ways to offset it little by little. After a year and lots of reflection, I realized I was wasting time there and decided to pack up and leave.”
A departure from what he laid out earlier in the year soon after joining Lykos Empire when he denied that he fell out with Harmonize.
“Ninachoshukuru Mungu kwa Harmonize sijagombana naye nimeondoka nikamwambia bro ni wakati wangu kufanya movement kwa sababu ya mitikasi maisha lazima yaendelee akaniambia freshi akanibless. Akitaka kufanya kazi akinitafuta tutafanya,” he said,” said Bonga at the time.
There is, however, still no love lost between the two. According to Bonga, he owes a lot to Harmonize for the career he now leads having accelerated his star power.
“The truth is, he assisted me immensely. Through him, I am famous and got to work with several personalities. I thank God for it. He has, however, not paid his dues for service rendered. I produced several hits and you can check them out on YouTube. All I got is a name, and even though that is not bad in itself, there are several needs he should have met that I deserved,” he added.

Asked if Harmonize was contractually obligated to pay him, he responded:
“When I started out with him, I was passionate and was not concerned with pay. We were cool. I was sure if I had a problem and needed, say, Tsh50,000, Tsh200,000 or Tsh100,000 and even a million from him, he would be of help. That is how we related. But after a while we grew, my name got bigger and dreams change. We would tour and people would recognize me; then it stagnated.”
The experience, he added, was a learning curve and reiterated that he is content at Lykos Empire where he disclosed that he is honoured for his work.
