Bahati and Diana Marua. The pair is expecting their first child together
  • Diana and Bahati planned to have a wedding before the end of the year
  • With their love affair stalked by controversy, the pair is now expecting their first child
  • The new development has had their wedding postponed

We were expecting wedding bells. Instead, we have a baby coming. And as Bahati and Diana sing ‘hallelujah’ ahead of the new bundle of joy, critics are at it again and some fans are dumbfouded.

Who expected the chic to come before the egg after all?

“Nimekuwa baba before but ( I am) still learning. The family is growing,” Bahati opens up to confirm the grapevine. It’s true, his fiancée Diana is heavy with child.

“Cake! labda wengine washaakula. Hamuoni nimeficha vidole” (Cake? Maybe other people already ate it. Can’t you see I’m hiding my ring finger?), he teases as we dig in challenging him about the much-awaited wedding that was supposed to have taken place in August, that promise having come from his mouth.

He gets witty while still keeping his innocent demeanor then throws us off again correcting the narrative to affirm that the wedding would be happening soon. Now, this is a puzzle. We are in the maze of things.

“I am still learning what fatherhood entails. I am a new father and yes, the family is growing,” he calculatedly leads on.

For weeks, we have been following up the issue and not for a second would Bahati let us access his heartthrob, the second woman to get his baby, that after his troubled love affair with Yvette, the Nairobi girl who still maintains that she moved out of Bahati’s life after he cheated on her.

It might seem that the two took a shortcut into beginning a family probably due to financial shortcomings that come with the big day, probably, just probably. Besides, all indications were, and still are, that with the backing from their families, wedding bells will still ring.

“I remember going before God on my knees and admitting my level of brokenness and opening my heart for restoration. I then began praying boldly for things that I knew I needed and not the things that continued to enable the broken parts of me. I desired to be a woman of God who wouldn’t be afraid to rise up to the calling.

“And God works in mysterious ways! I cannot begin to write them down but they’re countless. Honey, you played a huge part in making me become that woman... I love the way you trust what God has whispered to you about me,” Diana says of her commitment to Bahati.

“Every lady wants a wedding and that’s what Diana was looking forward to, but with the pregnancy and the responsibilities piling up, not to mention the elections, it makes sense for them to wait,” one of Diana’s close friends tells Pulse.

The beautiful couple has had to postpone their wedding to welcome their new baby

The friend goes ahead to challenge that the couple is no longer worried about being judged by some critics; the fact that they are already living under one roof before putting on the ring.

“Neither Bahati nor Diana cares anymore what people in the gospel (industry) have to say about them and their relationship. Many were against the union to begin with so why keep them in their affairs?” she affirms.
