Deputy President William Ruto was expected at his Sugoi home in Uasin Gishu County yesterday afternoon.
He will cast his ballot at Kosachei Primary School in Tapsagoi ward, Turbo constituency. The school is about a kilometre from the DP's home.
The DP's name is listed under number 00386 at the polling station. "The DP is already in the county and will spend the evening at home before participating in voting accompanied by his wife Rachel," a source told The Standard yesterday.
This is the first time the Deputy President will be visiting his rural home since it came under attack by a lone gunman on July 29. The attacker was killed by the GSU Recce Company after an 18-hour siege which left a police officer dead.
A senior official who requested anonymity said security has been beefed up at Ruto's Yegen Farm in Sugoi.
