I was born in Nairobi but I have no recollection of my childhood as I left the country for South Africa as a child.

I went to school in South Africa and when I came back, I moved to Mombasa.

I only settled back in Nairobi after Tusker Project Fame.

Basically, things had changed and I was just like a first timer.

First of all, everyone is always in a hurry in Nairobi, compared to Mombasa where everything can wait. Yes! No need to push it if you are tired or not in the mood to work.

And come to think of it, why is everyone in Nairobi always in a hurry yet they are headed nowhere? I mean with all the traffic?

I also found it strange how one had to wait till they were almost 25 so as to get a job. I started working in South Africa when I was 15 years old.

I could go to school and still earn money to survive.

The fact that we have to wait till we are done with college to get a job is too much. Is it really necessary to wait that long?

Driving in Nairobi was also a bit strange for me. Having learnt how to drive abroad, I had a difficult time trying to adopt.

I remember how I would get angry when someone decided to stop in the middle of the highway to drop off or pick up a friend. It was annoying!
