Police in Makueni have launched a hunt for a preacher, who allegedly raped an 18-year-old girl in Kilungu on October 19.
The teenager told police that she was walking home from Kikuswi Market, when the reverend offered her a lift.
“The suspect stopped his vehicle at a secluded spot a few kilometres [from Kikuswi Market] and forced himself on the girl,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said on Monday, November 8.
Police say the preacher, who ministers with the Africa Inland Church (AIC) in Kilungu, warned his victim of “dire consequences” should she report the matter.
