Three robbery suspects posing as traffic police officers have been gunned down by Flying Squad officers at Mikuyuni on the Machakos-Kitui road.
Mwala police boss Ronald Kirui said the suspects were trailed from Athi River town.
They were ambushed near Masii town, about 15km from Machakos town.
"The suspects had been robbing motorists along highways by posing as traffic police officers," Kirui said.

A pistol, five bullets, handcuffs and police uniforms were recovered from the slain suspects.
Police are currently at the scene.
