A Member of Meru County Assembly was today charged with incitement and obstructing police officers from performing their duties.
MCA Elias Murega ppeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Evans Mbicha after he was arrested on Thursday in Imenti North for trying to stop police officers from arresting three men.
A motor vehicle belonging to a Mr Kiama was destroyed during the ensuing melee. Murega denied the charges and was released on a Sh7 million bond.
The three men were charged with being in a place where people frequent for purposes of of smoking, inhaling, sniffing or using narcotic drugs.
They denied the charges.

They were released on a Sh3 million bond each.
Their lawyer Calvin Ochieng protested the high bond amounts terming them unfair.
