Kenyan Olympian and World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge has expressed his delight after being named World Athletics athlete of the year on Saturday.
The sub-two-hour record holder retained the award thanks to his barrier-busting marathon in Vienna in October 2019.
Kipchoge, who holds the official world record of 2:01:39 did not hide his delight after being named the winner of the prestigious price.
The 2018 Berlin Marathon world record holder took to social media to acknowledge his accomplishment twitting a photo of himself captioned:
Following his win at the World Athletics Awards 2019, Kipchoge has received praise on social media with many people congratulating him for his outstanding performance.
