A primary school teacher died on Wednesday evening when he fell into an uncovered latrine pit.
Kapenguria OCPD Anthony Wanjuu said the teacher had gone to town to attend a meeting and later joined his colleagues for a game of pool in the evening.
According to the police, Benerdict Pkursio, 50, who taught at Chemoroch Primary School in Sook division, excused himself to visit the toilet at around 8pm, but he fell a pit nearby.
His friends pulled him out and rushed him to Kapenguria Hospital, but he was declared dead. Police said they were pursuing the owners of the building where the accident happened.
