Die hard supporter of outgoing regime switches sides at City Hall

Political loyalty is as fleeting as wind in the desert.

As new governors take their seats, the defeated ones have to vacate office and take their teams with them.

New Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o is an example of an incoming governor who refused to use the office used by the previous governor. He preferred using a floor closer to his colleagues - even with the old chairs.

In Nairobi, outgoing governor Evans Kidero also vacated office with all his staff, leaving space for Mike Mbuvi Sonko.

A senior city county official who was a diehard support of the outgoing regime has switched sides and is now a strong defender of the new team.

It is said that this man with a penchant for court cases is now angling for a high post.

This is causing quite a storm for during the campaign our man was painted as a poster boy of corruption. Now he is being mentioned as one of the front runners of the elective post.

We are still waiting to see whether the city smooth operator will secure the coveted seat.
